On January 6, according to the statistics of the Secretariat of the Titanium Dioxide Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and the Titanium Dioxide Sub-center of the National Chemical Productivity Promotion Center, in 2022, the production of titanium dioxide by 41 full-process enterprises in my country’s titanium dioxide industry will achieve another success, and the industry-wide production The total output of rutile and anatase titanium dioxide and other related products reached 3.861 million tons, an increase of 71,000 tons or 1.87% year-on-year.
Bi Sheng, secretary-general of the Titanium Dioxide Alliance and director of the Titanium Dioxide Sub-center, said that according to statistics, in 2022, there will be a total of 41 full-process titanium dioxide production enterprises in the industry with normal production conditions (excluding 3 enterprises that stopped production during the year and resumed statistics) 1 enterprise).
Among the 3.861 million tons of titanium dioxide and related products, 3.326 million tons of rutile products accounted for 86.14% of the total output, an increase of 3.64 percentage points over the previous year; 411,000 tons of anatase products accounted for 10.64%, down 2.36 percentage points from the previous year; non-pigment grade and other types of products were 124,000 tons, accounting for 3.21%, down 1.29 percentage points from the previous year. Chlorination products were 497,000 tons, a significant increase of 121,000 tons or 32.18% over the previous year, accounting for 12.87% of the total output and 14.94% of the rutile-type product output, both of which were significantly higher than the previous year.
In 2022, among the 40 comparable production enterprises, 16 will increase in production, accounting for 40%; 23 will decrease, accounting for 57.5%; and 1 will remain the same, accounting for 2.5%.
According to Bi Sheng’s analysis, the main reason for the record high production of titanium dioxide in my country is due to the improvement in demand in the global economic environment. The first is that foreign production enterprises are affected by the epidemic, and the operating rate is insufficient; the second is that the production capacity of foreign titanium dioxide manufacturers is gradually shutting down, and there has been no effective production capacity increase for many years, which makes China’s titanium dioxide export volume increase year by year. At the same time, due to the proper control of the domestic epidemic situation in my country, the overall macroeconomic outlook is good, and internal circulation demand is driven. In addition, domestic enterprises have started to expand production capacity one after another in recent years, which has greatly increased the total production capacity of the industry.
